Chinese Copper Imports in May Shrink by 21%

Steelguru - China’s exports contracted in May as global coronavirus lockdowns continued to devastate demand, although at a smaller pace than expected, while imports fell at the sharpest rate since January 2016. China’s unwrought copper imports in May fell 5.5% from the previous month but was up 20.8% from the same period a year earlier

Weak exports highlighted the pressure on China’s manufacturing industry, one of the major consumers of copper.
